On occasion there are featured guest speakers to further elaborate on specific topics and provide insight on other forms of defense strategies.
This program is designed for attorneys with a special interest in criminal defense. Even third year law students with a desire to practice criminal defense are eligible for the program as well.
Although this program is specifically structured for new criminal defense attorneys, it can be an excellent course to launch long-term attorneys looking to change their area of practice in criminal defense into the right direction.
Please note: anyone affiliated with any law enforcement agencies, including attorneys, are not eligible to enroll in the program.
An attorney should be able to step into a courtroom with confidence in how to navigate each situation thrown at them to be able to competently, effectively represent and advocate for their client. Unfortunately, law school does not teach lawyers these critical lessons. Therefore, it is important for attorneys to comprehend the goal from each court proceeding such as: arraignments, bail hearings, pre-trial conferences, preliminary hearings, or the entire jury trial process.
It is essential for an attorney to step into a multitude of situations alongside with their clients to accurately explain best- and worst-case scenarios and continue to properly execute the best defense while maintaining reasonable expectations to their client.
This signature program was designed to educate attorneys of the procedures but to also assist each attorney in adding to their layers of foundation of excellence and knowledge. And lastly, provide each attorney with a new network of attorney contacts and relationships to build along the way.
